Chad Spence was born in Bryan, Texas and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. Chad met and married his wife Shelly while attending Oklahoma State University. Chad grew up working in the family business and after some college went back to work in the business in Dallas, TX. Chad's driving ambition was to successfully take his business to new heights.

While living in Lewisville, Texas in 1994, a married couple from Liberty Baptist Church knocked on the door of the Spence home while out on visitation. Chad and Shelly attended Liberty Baptist Church the next Sunday. "I did not grow up attending any church, and this was the first time I had heard preaching. I thought that preacher knew all about me with the awful things he said about me like 'What will it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul' and more!"

Both Chad and Shelly received Christ as their Saviour shortly thereafter. In 1995, after heavy conviction, Chad surrendered to preach the gospel. Pastor Webster immediately put him to work preaching in the Nursing home ministry and teaching the 4th & 5th grade boys Sunday School class.

In 1997, after implementing plans to leave his business, Chad & Shelly with 3 children packed up and enrolled at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. After graduation in 2001, Br. Chad went to work as associate to Dr. Keith Shumate at Landmark Baptist Church in Red Oak, TX. "I want to publicly thank the Lord for putting me under the godly leadership of Br. Shumate to prepare me for the pastorate"

Dr. Keith Shumate retired from the Pastorate of the church which he planted on the Church's 25th Anniversary on April 3, 2005. The Church unanimously called Br. Spence as their 2nd pastor.

Chad & Shelly will celebrate their 20th anniversary in May and have been blessed with 8 children. Pastor Spence has had the privilege to serve on the Board of Directors of the GIBM and he currently serves as the Moderator of the GIBF of TEXAS.
